Geography Assessment

 This week the children completed an assessment to showcase their learning over the past six weeks.

 First, they recapped their knowledge and played ‘Where in the World’. 

Following this the children produced some amazing posters about National Parks. Have a look at the amazing work they have produced.

French: to act out a fable

 Year 4 listened to their song about the weather and practised weather vocabulary with actions. They then watch a fable: the wind and the sun. They then joined in as the fable was read with actions for the wind and sun, saying one phrase. They were then given sentences from the fable,which they then waved in the air when they heard it being said.

 The final lesson always answers the assessment question: would you like to live in a desert? Following this, the children recapped reading four grid references on their Ordnance Survey Maps. Fabulous as always year 4.

RE Day - Remembering (Janmashtami)

 Today’s RE Day has focussed on the concept of remembering. We talked about what we remember and why, and how we show our remembering through celebrations and events. We talked about Christians and how Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. We then compared this to the Hindu festival of Jamashtami, which celebrates the birth of Krishna. We had some fascinating discussions and considered how the concept applies to many areas of our own lives.
