ARCHIVED Year 4 Blog 2024/25

What a fantastic day we all had on Friday! The children behaved exceptionally and did themselves and the school  proud. We found out lots about the making of the Harry Potter movies and even had a few surprises along the way. Here a selection of photos from the day.

 Year 4 took to origami this week when it came to making their howlers. After a few practice turns with the scrap paper, they were let losoe with their real howlers. Oh my goodness they look amazing, check them out! 

This week, Year 4 have been hard at work planning their very own howlers.  Over the next few weeks, they will be creating a script, making a howler and filming their creations using a green screen. 

 This term we are beginning our Harry Potter topic where we will be writing our very own Howlers!  Today, we enjoyed reading and performing Howlers from the books, thinking carefully about our voices and expression. Some of them were very frightening!

 The children worked so hard on their persuasive letters to get eggs for the Easter Raffle, and we just wanted to say a massive thank you for all of your contributions and for sharing their letters with others. Altogether we collected over 150 Easter eggs which we are now going to raffle off in order to raise funds for our school library!  The raffle tickets will be on sale Monday after school, before and after school on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning. Tickets are £1 each and the raffle will take place on Wednesday 2nd April. 

 We loved seeing all of the brilliant costumes for today’s World Book Day! The children loved making top trumps style cards based on their favourite characters and then taking part in a character battle. 

 This week, year 4 have been publishing their own flanimal reports using Google docs and Canva.  The children first had to write, edit and improve their written work. Once the editing was done, it was time to get the laptops out!
