French: to act out a fable

 Year 4 listened to their song about the weather and practised weather vocabulary with actions. They then watch a fable: the wind and the sun. They then joined in as the fable was read with actions for the wind and sun, saying one phrase. They were then given sentences from the fable,which they then waved in the air when they heard it being said.

Geography Fieldwork

 What a fantastic day!  This morning, Chloe (from the Wessex River Trust) came into school to deliver an interactive assembly to recap the features of a river as well as understanding what animals and vegetation can be found in the river. This was really important as the children needed to be able to identify these creatures later on in the day. Then , they visited The River Medina to dip in the river to find the different animals living in there as well as measuring the speed of the river and sketching a weir.

Reading - Library Time

 We have some brilliant readers in Year 4 and we have already been blown away by the children’s passion for books. In school, the children have access to our well-stocked book corners, as well as our whole school library. This week, Holly class had the privilege of spending some time in the library enjoying their books and even selecting some new ones to bring home.
