Features of a River

 Today, the children began identifying the different features of a river. They began by watching  a journey down a river. Here they looked at the upper course and the source as well as waterfalls and how the river runs quickly. Next, they looked at the middle course, where there can be tributaries, meanders and the water runs more slowly. Finally, the lower course, where there are often estuaries and the mouth. They are all ready for their fieldwork next week.

16/10/24 RE Day- Community

 Today, Year have 4 have been looking at community and the importance of the role of neighbour within the community. We spent some time looking at the parable of the good samaritan and then had a go at creating our own modern-day version in groups.  Finally, we made story cubes of the parable with the hidden message inside. Assessment and map work

 The final lesson always answers the assessment question: would you like to live in a desert? Following this, the children recapped reading four grid references on their Ordnance Survey Maps. Fabulous as always year 4.
